What I discovered

Apitherapy, or the use of bee products, including bee venom, which has long been used in traditional medicine is being explored for the treatment of cancer

A USA Today article has debunked posts that claim that bee venom can cure cancer. These posts rapidly gathered traction on various social media platforms. One such post on Facebook read, “If you have cancer, go get stung by a bee.” USA Today flagged this as ‘fake news’ and warned: “Experts told USA TODAY the claim is baseless and potentially dangerous. Studies have found bee venom was successful at killing cancer cells in laboratory experiments, but such research is in very early stages and will not necessarily translate into a successful treatment in humans.”

While bee venom cancer treatments may be far off, apitherapy, or the use of bee products, including bee venom, in traditional medicine has been practiced for centuries in many cultures worldwide. Here are some examples of how different cultures have used apitherapy:

Ancient Egyptians: Beekeeping was an important part of ancient Egyptian culture, and they believed that bees had healing properties. They used honey to treat wounds and infections and believed that bee stings could alleviate joint pain and other ailments.

Traditional Chinese Medicine: Bee venom has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties and is often used to treat conditions such as arthritis and back pain.

Greek Medicine: Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, used bee venom to treat joint pain and swelling. He believed that bee venom could help the body heal itself by stimulating the immune system.

European Folk Medicine: In Europe, bee venom was often used to treat rheumatism, gout, and other joint disorders. Beekeepers were known to rub bee venom on their joints to relieve pain and inflammation.

Modern Apitherapy: In modern times, apitherapy has gained popularity as an alternative form of medicine. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and chronic pain.

While apitherapy has been used in many cultures for centuries, it is important to note that it can be dangerous and should only be done under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.

Book Review

I cannot thank Shiamak Davar enough for introducing me to The Laws of the Spirit World by Khorshed Bhavnagri

The Laws of the Spirit World by Khorshed Bhavnagri is a truly life-changing book that offers a refreshing, non-religious perspective on the spiritual world. I was introduced to it by the incredible Shiamak Davar, who appeared on my podcast to talk about how dance heals. This book delivers exactly what it promises: a deep dive into the laws that govern the spirit world, including the different realms and how they function.

It is an absolute treasure for anyone seeking answers to questions about karma, the purpose of being born on this planet, the significance of choosing specific parents, and what happens after we pass from this planet, among many other topics. Bhavnagri masterfully and elegantly explains these complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand, leaving an indelible impression on the reader’s consciousness.

The book offers numerous invaluable lessons, such as the importance of free will, the right path to live, and the reasons behind our existence on Earth. It provides readers with a roadmap to lead a fulfilling and purposeful life and guides them on a path to expand their consciousness.

The most striking aspect of The Laws of the Spirit World is the touching story behind its creation. Bhavnagri wrote the book after her two sons died in a car accident, and they began communicating with her from the afterlife. The book is a product of the wisdom and insight gained from these conversations and it serves as a tribute to the power of love and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children.

I cannot recommend The Laws of the Spirit World enough. It is a beautiful, thought-provoking, and inspiring book that has the power to transform your life and your relationship with the world around you.
