Having graduated with a BSc. in Anthropology from the University College of London,UK. Shobana embarked on an endless journey studying and practicing Homeopathy, Yoga and Tarot.

She studied Homeopathy in the USA under the tutelage of Elaine Lewis at the Hahnemanian School of Homeopathy. Shobana uses a combination of these modalities in her clinical practice in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Shobana completed her first Diploma in Yoga (1998) under the tutelage of Dr K.V.K.Shivaswamy of the International Zen Institute of Yoga, India. She is also a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor and Yogic Lifestyle Counselor. During her affiliation with Astanka Yoga Mandir in Sri Lanka, she co-founded AAYUSH, a holistic healing platform which supported the education and operation of an integrated clinical practice. Having also completed her Yoga Alliance, USA RYT 200 with Integral Yoga U.S.A along with the Children’s Yoga Certification with Kidding Around Yoga, USA. Shobana continues her learning in Yogic philosophy and practices, dedicated to deepening her understanding and practice of Restorative & Therapeutic Yoga guided by the teachings of Swami Satchidananda.

Shobana conducts a series of “Reboot” holistic workshops with Swami Divyananda ma of Integral Yoga, USA. She is also aligned with other collaborative partnerships in holistic healing in Sri Lanka and the UK.

In her remaining time, Shobana founded and continues to design an eclectic line of whimsical adornments for the home and body in Sri Lanka under the brand name “1948shop”.

And lastly but certainly not least, she is a mother of 2 vibrant boys.
