Meditation can give us a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both our emotional well being and our overall health. In episode two of our meditation series, we’re looking at how meditation can lead to better health. Guiding us is Amrita Mann, healer, seeker and Yogi. Through her guided meditation, she has helped people sort out a number of issues from aches and pains, poor digestion, dizziness, anxiety, chronic fatigue, autoimmune issues and many many more. We got so much invaluable information today. Before we start to meditate today, can you explain how meditation can change our emotional, mental and physical body?
Amrita Mann: So, as I had mentioned in the previous episode, when we meditate, we are bringing down a huge amount of spiritual energy and cosmic energy, divine energy, whatever you want to call it and when we are bringing that down and when we are bringing it down with intention, with what we want to clear in ourselves, it focuses on that because energy follows thought. So wherever your thoughts are, that is where you’re focusing your energies. There’s this divine flow of energy throughout our system, we constantly have this connection to the cosmos and motherhood which is flowing through us whether we are aware. So we choose healing, we choose to focus that energy on healing our physical body, emotional body and our thoughts so that we can heal completely. Healing happens from the thought level. So it happens first from the mental body, then the emotions and then the physical. So when your physical body is already affected, that means that the issue started a long time back. It’s been a chronic issue already, so you need to heal it from the system, your emotions and then the body heals automatically.
AB: Amrita, I know I’ve asked you this in our last episode in the meditation series, but specifically with relation to help, so say someone’s meditating for a particular health issue, how long will it be before they can just see that it’s affecting something?
AM: You can sometimes see it almost instantly when you’re focusing on somebody who has a liver issue or any heart issue or something like that. So when you’re bringing down the energy, when you become a little more sensitive to energy in your body and feel certain things in your body, you’ll notice that there’s this heaviness, there’s this stress which starts easing out. So sometimes it can take just for temporary release to happen, it can be almost instantly and for a permanent release to healing to take place on our physical organ body system or whatever, it depends on how fast you heal that belief system within you. Whatever you’re holding on to is what is causing the disease in the first place. So when you’re ready to let go of that, when you’re ready to heal the emotion that caused that pain, it will heal then and then. So it can be instantaneous and it is stubborn, it can be a long term thing. So it all depends on how fast you want to heal.
AB: On that note, Amrita. Can we do meditation for health?
AM: Sure. Just relax, take a deep breath. Let’s get in touch with our bodies. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. Start with the invocation, constrict, breathe into it and release. The Divine, supreme being, to the Holy Gurus, Holy Masters, to the Saints, angels, archangels, our spiritual guides and helpers, and to the body element or the body deva, we humbly invoke their divine guidance, healing and blessing in healing our physical body. So just relax. Observe your body from head to toe. Visualise your crown. Visualise divine light entering your crown. Your brain cells, left brain, the right brain, the front, middle and back. See this light flooding all the brain cells, clearing all heaviness, negative thoughts, patterns, belief systems and conditions that are not serving your high. Be aware of this brilliant white light down from source curing your entire brain. See the light going down to your third eye curing all negative thoughts, belief systems, giving you clarity, helping you connect with your higher self. See the light going down to the throat with thyroid parathyroid glands. Observe how the energy throat feels. See if this feels a bit constricted. Breathe into it and release breathing into your throat, sending a lot of love and healing light to your thyroid parathyroid glands. You can even connect with them and ask if anything needs to be changed. Your arms, elbows, fingertips. See this light going through each and every cell, muscle, tissue, nerves, clearing all the tension, any sadness, any dreams, anything that you’re holding on to, anything which is not of love, just surrender down. See this light washing the way the heart and lung connect with it deeper. Going down to the stomach, the liver, the pancreas, release any anger, irritation, and any suppressed emotions. Be aware of the pancreas, releasing all bitterness. And as you inhale this divine light, see the bandwidth light up with joy. Be aware of your stomach releasing all indigestive thoughts, emotions. See this light hearing all the internal organisation, deep seated emotions and thoughts and memories that are causing any discomfort. Feel light going down to the intestine lining, releasing all toxic thoughts and emotions that have been pent up. Be gentle with yourself. You can talk to any organ that you wish to connect. Going down to the reproductive system, taking deep cleansing breaths, releasing all heaviness, any low self-esteem, self-worth, any shame, guilt. See if you feel it anywhere in your body. See the light going down to your hips, your thighs, releasing any traumatic memory. Going down to the knees, the legs, the ankles. Connecting from soles of your feet down to Mother Earth. Sending a lot of love and blame to Mother Earth. When we bless the Earth, all the people who are going through similar situations with good health, happiness and joy, it comes back to us many, many times. Feel the energy of the earth coming back through your body, up to your heart and radiating from your heart.
